I have a 2000 ram 1500 2x with the 5 9 automatic however i believe that this is applies to all gen2 trucks regardless of drivetrain or engine type.
2005 dakota no floor air in dash.
Dash vents do not change positions.
Anyway that revealed a solid panel and to take it off i d have to take off the entire dash surround which overlaps it on the left side.

Is it something that can be fixed orwill it require some new parts.
No airflow to the floor is almost always a sign of mode door 2 failure.
No headlights taillights or dash lights 1991 dodge.
Mode door 2 then controls whether the air flows to the defrost or to the floor.
I simply removed the six screws at the bottom hinge.
Can t get anything out of any other vent.

2000 dakota plenty of air flow but only out of the defrost vents regardless of the switch setting.
My story see the end to get.
Mode door 1 routes air away from the main part of the system the main vents and into the secondary system the defrost and floor vents.
Just picked up a 99 dakota r t and i m only getting the heat ac to blow out the defrost vents up on the dash for the windshield.
I did find a 2 inch hose for the side defrost was off but i can not get it back on is there a hose that goes to the vent back under there also that could be off i do not see how to get the dash out to get back in there i have the face off but i cant get the top off i thought i have all the screws out but it will not move around at the.
I changed the battery and the air stopped coming out of the top vents works only through the defrost vents and the floor.
If this filter becomes clogged due to lack maintenance it will stop or slow the flow of air exiting the vents.
Mode doors 1 and 2 control the airflow.

2000 dakota slow to move to defrost selection in heater or air conditioner position to floor position no problem.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is before i go ripping into the dash.
The blower motor fan sits under the dash just above the floor mat in the pic.
To check this filter locate the filter housing which can be either under the dash on the passenger side or under the hood of the car near the base of the windshield on the passenger side remove the cabin air filter and inspect.
The way the manual describes glove box removal didn t work for me.
Just wondering if this a common issue simple fix without having to get rapped at the dealer.
